Clinical and Radiological Analysis of Double contrast Arthrography



Abstract
We menisectomized 40 knees with meniscal lesion for disabling symptoms after the diagnosis by clinical and radiological evaluation from Jan. 1981 to Dec. 1982.
Statistical analysis were as follows ;
1. All cases were military personnel aged from 21 to 39 years old. The most meniscal lesions occured in the age group between 23~24 years old. (50.0%).
2. The common causes of injury mechanism is trauma in 37 cases. (92.5%)
3. The right knee joint was a more prevalent site. The ratio of right to left was 27 : 13.
4. Lateral meniscal lesion in 29 cases(72.5%) and medial meniscal lesion in 11 cases. (27.5%)
5.The most common type of the injuried menisci was Bucket handle type in 16 cases. (40.0%)
6. Diagnostic accuracy of arthrography was 92.5%.
